Ana Barrios has a background in Science and Health, having graduated from Medical School and completed her residency in Pediatrics. She dedicated 3 years to working in remote areas in the south part of Mexico, providing healthcare to communities in need.
Thirteen years ago, Ana moved to the Seattle area and has been actively involved in volunteering. She served as a Spanish interpreter and translator at different high schools and later joined the Lake Washington School District. In her role she contributes to the well-being and academic success of students from diverse backgrounds, using her language skills and personal experience to bridge gaps and foster a supportive environment. With her background as an immigrant herself, she possesses a deep understanding of the immigrant community. This understanding extends to their inquiries and feelings, and she actively works towards helping them improve their lives. Ana’s commitment to social justice and advocacy for children aligns with her goal of creating a positive impact within the immigrant community.
Outside of her professional life, Ana enjoys spending time with her two daughters, Valeria and Vanessa, her husband Antonio, and her doggie Lucho. She has a keen interest in continuous learning and 5 years ago she became a Certified Body Combat Instructor and her current endeavor is to learn Korean and Chinese.
